I’m Linda Gassmann (motor vessel Linda G II), the Rear Commodore in charge of Membership.  If you have any questions about joining the club, your dues, or other membership activities, you can contact me on gassmannfl1@aol.com

Our membership is approaching 2000 members and mates, and growing every day!  This wonderful group of folks comes from almost every state, the Bahamas, Canada, and several other countries.  Club members include cruisers, racers, sailors (“blow boaters”) power boaters (“stink potters”) and even boatless folks (“dirt people”).

You may request membership by just downloading the membership application and mail it to the club address.  Couldn’t be easier.

As a member, you will quickly realize the benefits the club provides.  The new member package includes the membership certificate, membership card, the club burgee, and current newsletter.  New Member initiation is only $125.00 including the dues for the first year.  Subsequent annual membership is only $30.00 per year.

Club members enjoy absolutely fabulous parties while in the Abacos.  Currently, our events are held at the beautiful Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour in Marsh Harbour during the winter and spring (November-April).  Check the calendar  for recent events and what we are planning for next year.

From May through October, the fun moves to the “mainland”. RMHYC chapters are located in a number of states and Canada.  Contact the port captain in your area for more information.

Member discounts are another wonderful benefit of belonging to the club. We are in the process of revising our  2007 club discounts and will post them in the new future.

Stay in touch with your friends and fellow cruisers.  While you are in the Abacos, folks can contact you by sending a message to rmhyc@hotmail.com.  We will let you know if you have a message during the morning meeting that is aired on the VHF each day.  Our newsletter is published two times a year to help you keep up with the “goings on.”

The RMHYC members support the Abaco community through donations and volunteers.  The club also promotes better boating for members by

·         Helping to arrange buddy boats for passages

·         An occasional rendezvous or club cruise

·         Providing current information on cruising grounds and passages

·         Sponsoring educational programs and seminars

·         Providing customs, immigration and tourist information and contacts for visitors

Questions?  Contact Linda Gassmann Rear Commodore, M/V Linda G II, Boat Harbour Marina from November thru April.  Or send an email to gassmannfl1@aol.com
