Bahamas Pet Permit Procedure
Below is the pet permit process detailed by one of our RMHYC members.
Bringing a pet to the Bahamas is not complicated, just administratively burdensome.
1. First the main landing page of the Bahamas.gov website is
Here
2. At the bottom of the page is a link for either Dog or Cat permit.
3. Then you will need to complete the application
Here
You will need to send the completed form and a money order to the address on the form. It is best to use FedEx. You will want to make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get the permit back from the Bahamian government. When I sent the form in, I did call, and they were very helpful. I would keep copies of everything you send in.

After you receive the permit, you will then need to take your pet to the vet within 48 hours of your arrival into the Bahamas. With the permit, you will receive the form that the Vet needs to complete. You should also travel with all your shot records.
You will need to follow this process each time the pet comes into the Bahamas. Another traveler shared with me that there is a way to purchase 5 permits at once, but I have not called to follow-up on that process.
