Christmas Eve 2013 in Marsh Harbour
By Rita Wieczorek
Several club members left the Bahamas to spend the holiday season with family and friends at their land homes and some RMHYC members had family and friends who joined them in the Abacos in Boat Harbour. There were fishing trips, dingy rides, and exploration on neighboring cays and travelers arriving for a destination wedding festivities at the resort.
The most important event was the Christmas Eve dinner organized by Judy Williams (M/V Elegant One). The women got together to discuss the menu at 5PM cocktails for several evenings. Ray Vallerie (M/V Last Dance) and Bob Williams (M/V Elegant One) strung lights around the tent and palm trees and the picnic tables were dressed-up for the party with Christmas wreaths and battery candles.
Brenda Baker (M/V Brenda J) assisted Judy Williams to get the tables ready for the appetizers which started at 5 PM, followed by dinner which included ham, turkey, lamb and all the fixings. Dessert followed but some members had to take a short rest before they could indulge in the pies, cakes brownies, bread putting and other treats.
The dinner was a big success. View the photographs taken by Robert Wilson (M/V Sea Island Girl), Lilly Jamrozinski (M/V Oh Henry) and Kathy Fenn (M/V Fennders).
